This week, I was required to do an assignment named 3 Column Table and combine it with the concept Big Hairy Amazing Goal BHAG. Even though I am always looking for new ways to improve my teaching skills, this assignment really forces me to get out of my comfort zone. I was used to planning my lessons the way my mentor taught me during my first year I become a teacher. Although at first I was reluctant to use this new method, and I was determined to just comply with the assignment, now I think I already like this system. Although, it will require a lot of practice to master it.
The following Social Studies project was planned using the BHAG/3 Column Table combination.
This project will be developed in Spanish by third-grade bilingual students in a period of two months. My classroom is considered a two-way-bilingual; therefore my students are Anglo and Hispanic decedents. I teach a total of 48 students equally divided into three periods. It is a practical and divergent project. The course will be delivered via blended. Learners will be able to work at their own pace in the classroom or at home. The technology available in the classroom is in a ratio of 2:1, that includes two PCs, five laptops, and one Android tablet. BYOD will be allowed on Fridays, and to work on the project only. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) used in this project are adopted by the State Board of Education, which are required by Texas law.
